| Natural
Resources Committee
The Natural
Resources Committee was created in 1999 to define the general philosophy
of the management of the specific properties of the Trust and to
provide a source of horticultural information to aid land stewards
in the management of Trust properties.
The policy statement
of the Natural Resources Committee is:
The general
property management policy of the Branford Land Trust is to leave
land in its natural state, allowing natural processes to take
place undisturbed. However, intervention may be allowed to encourage
natural diversity, to prevent degradation of natural systems or
to allow for appropriate human use. Any plantings, if appropriate,
will be native species suited to the site. Interventions must
be recommended by the Natural Resources committee and must be
approved by the Board.
